Welcome
and thank you for visiting! Join me as I train for my first triathlon and attempt to raise $6,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. There are sure to be near drownings, nasty spills, and tons of entertaining novice mistakes - you don't want to miss it! And because I am doing this in honor of my mom, Judy, I will throw in some of my favorite stories of us and how she helped get me to this point.

Green with Chlorine

For all the former and current swimmers out there - I have forgotten how much chlorine stinks.  It sticks to your skin, to your hair, to your teeth and even to your car after you sit wet in it.  And somehow the smell gets stronger in the shower when I am trying to rinse it off.  I showered twice since my swim practice last night and I STILL SMELL CHLORINE!

At least now I don't have to worry about my hair turning green, as my blond streaks now come from a bottle.  Which reminds me of the hours and hours my mom used to spend trying to get that green sheen out of my white, blond hair when I was little.  I forgot what that magical concoction was but it smelled worse than the chlorine itself.  Maybe vinegar?  I wanted to be a mermaid who lived in the sea back then, but try as I may, my mom kept taking the sea out of me :)

  1. I know exactly what you mean! If you're taking up swimming again you need to invest in UltraSwim: The Chlorine Removal Shampoo!
