Welcome
and thank you for visiting! Join me as I train for my first triathlon and attempt to raise $6,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. There are sure to be near drownings, nasty spills, and tons of entertaining novice mistakes - you don't want to miss it! And because I am doing this in honor of my mom, Judy, I will throw in some of my favorite stories of us and how she helped get me to this point.

The Biggest Surprise of All

is not that I DID NOT fall last night on my first venture with clippless pedals, the bigger surprise is that I was not at the back of the pack with these bad boys on.  *Note: I did not say that I was fast; nor was I strong; just not last*  Along with an efficient way to pedal, my biking coach Shawn also helped me with shifting and gear placement.  Combined, my legs became tools rather than unwilling participants in the ride.  I felt powerful for the first time this season.  It was an awesome feeling!

Hopefully, it continues on this Saturday's 'hilly' ride.
